tigertail

We never made it to Tiger Glacier at the end of Icy Bay proper, but that's okay because Chenega Glacier in Nassau Fiord, where we camped, is far larger and plenty impressive. This, however, is a smaller glacier to the left of the face of Chenega. It sprouts from the same glacier base as Tiger, and is aptly named Tigertail Glacier. The smaller scale of Tigertail made it easy to see how glaciers carve those signature U-shaped valleys out of mountains.
