Looking up from our lunch spot, you can see how the streams spring up full grown. I'm used to streams that start as trickles at the top of the mountain, and gather water as they come down. Here, the streams start out as big as they get, with all the flow coming from the melting snow and ice at the top of the mountain. You can also see how the peak looks like it's settled into a bed of scree, and then the vegetation suddenly takes hold below that.
