rock chock

The crevasses were not terribly wide in this part of the glacier, and rarely more than 20 feet long, so it was easy to walk around them, and even step over some of them. Near the moraine, there were big rocks on the surface, and some of them had gotten jammed into crevasses, which gave the impression that the rock was acting as a chock and holding the crack open.
