Saturday morning. It doesn't look like it would be that hard to get down to the ice. The moraine is monotonous enough that from any distance above, you really can't tell what the angle is or if there's a drop off. Look at the mountain on the other side of the glacier. The straight line running along the base is where the scree starts... a lot higher than you would expect. Where it's not steep, the moraine is easier to walk on than I had expected. It's just that it's steep in a lot of places.
