copper river valley to cantwell

So we turned around and headed to the Denali Highway instead. It's a 135 mile road that's mostly gravel. It used to be the way you got from Anchorage to Denali National Park (looking at the map, you can see how comical that is). When they built the Parks Highway, making a much more direct route from Anchorage to the park and Fairbanks, there wasn't much need for the Denali Highway anymore. Alaska is the only state I've been to where a gravel road is still considered a major highway!
